Dxing, as a game, can be played on many levels and with all kinds of equipment. Is your goal only to get "DXCC", or 100 "countries"? Do you want plaques, awards, recognition, and respect? Or, maybe just the self-satisfaction of knowing that you could be heard at a very long distance (DX) using the equipment at hand, and the best sportsman-like techniques available?
By virtue of having outlived almost everyone, I have been chasing and working DX longer than most. I began as a teenager in 1958 and have been enjoying the hobby ever since. For the past 8 years I have been DX myself, HP3AK, in western Panama.
